You know that olive oil is an awesome moisturizer, but did you know it also can be used as a makeup remover? Apply olive oil on a cotton pad and then gently massage your face for 1-2 minutes to dissolve your makeup. After, use a warm washcloth to gently wipe away your makeup until the oil is completely gone. Your face will feel and look clean, soft and hydrated.
Who needs a pricey hair mask when you have a carton of eggs in your fridge? Because eggs are a source of protein, they help make hair strong and healthy. The yolk is rich in fat and protein, which is majorly moisturizing. The white is full of bacteria-eating enzymes that cleanses your hair and scalp. Before you wash your hair, crack an egg in a small bowl and bring it with you inside of the shower. Use a full egg for normal to dry hair and whites for oily hair and scalp. Wash your hair normally and use the egg mixture as a finishing hair mask for shiny, strong locks.
Did you wake up with puffy eyes and/or dark circles? Reach for a potato to help return your peepers to their best. Potatoes have a particular compound that helps with reducing swelling and puffiness. Using a vegetable peeler, shred a small amount of potato, let it chill in the fridge for 30 minutes, and then place the chilled potato under your eyes for 15 minutes. You’ll never look at fries the same way again.
It might not have the sweetest scent, but garlic is a pretty sweet nail strengthener, while also helping your nails grow faster. Simply peel a clove of garlic and rub in on your nails. Let the juices absorb into the nail and cuticles (about 5-7 minutes) and then rinse with water. If you can’t stand the smell, you might want to rub your nails with lemon juice first.
Want fuller lips — but in a more natural way? Then reach for one of your fave spices: cinnamon. Mix a pinch of cinnamon to your lip gloss and voila! An instant lip plumper. Remember: cinnamon is a strong spice, so a little goes a long way.
If you’re still trying for those full Lily Collins’ brows without any luck, you might want to reach for an onion. Onion juice contains sulphur, which helps hair regrowth. To make onion juice, peel 2-3 onions and chop them into small pieces. To extract the juice, you can use a food processor, a blender, a grater or a juicer. After you collect the juice, dip a cotton ball into it and apply on your eyebrows. Leave it on for 30 minutes, and then rinse off (and maybe dab yourself with some perfume if you’re going out).
