The contouring craze continues, and this time the beauty trick is skipping the face and focusing on the lower half of the body: our legs. Yes, you read that correctly. Now, with a few skilled strokes of a makeup brush, you can chisel and sculpt your legs to near super model perfection.

Since then there’s been a bunch of YouTube videos on the trend, each of them showcasing a different style. Some makeup artists make leg contouring look like it takes a little more than a stroke of shimmer and some bronzer, using more than one brush, not to mention a few strategically placed lines of makeup.
While others advise to delicately pile on bronzer gel and illuminator on the lower half of your pins.
No matter which technique you use, the end result is to help give the illusion of slimmer (and glowier) gams. So does it work? According to these Instagram posts, some women have been pretty pleased with their contoured legs.
So is leg contouring worth it? Well, it depends on how much time and support you have. Not only does the technique require a really awesome bestie to help apply the look, but it also requires a TON of product. Meaning you would be going through bottles and bottles of bronzer, shimmer and primer depending on how often you wanted to show off your gams ($$$$). Plus, wearing all that makeup on your legs means you wouldn’t be able to sit down anywhere or get close to anyone without causing your makeup to rub off — and creating a mess. (You don’t even want to imagine the dry cleaning bills!)
What’s a girl, who wants glowing legs, to do?
Leg contouring might be a fun thing to try for a special night out with your squad or bae, but when in doubt, some extra lunges and a little bit of tinted moisturizer should do the trick.
