As the importance of mental health awareness rises, sharing ways to cope with anxiety is a great way to help. Everyone should have their own skincare routine regardless of their skin type, and following a nightly routine creates structure which can be comforting to someone struggling with anxiety. Here are our tips for creating a regimen to keep your skin healthy and anxiety in check!

Step 1: Choose a Luxurious Cleanser
Cleansing your face to remove the day’s makeup and grime is the most vital step of your skincare process. I know it’s a pain to remember to wash your face every night, so choose a luxurious moisturizer that you will actually look forward to using. Remember, it shouldn’t make your face feel squeaky, but refreshed.

Step 2: Facial Massage
When you’re moisturizing, treat yourself to a facial massage. Massages have many proven benefits aside from anxiety relief — your skin will thank you.

Step 3: Follow The Same Routine Every Night
Once you’ve found the steps that work for your skin, maintain your routine. Even if it feels like things are spinning out of control, you’ve got a handle on your routine!

Step 4: Incorporate Aromatherapy
The powers of essential oils are no secret — so use them to your benefit! Using an oil diffuser works great, but if you’re on a tight budget, invest in one or two scents that you love and help you relax. I recommend the classic lavender for relaxation or lemon to feel refreshed and invigorated. One drop on the inside of your wrist is all you need!
