Why You Shouldn’t Wear the Same Shoes Every Day

Here's your excuse to buy more shoes

If you have a closet full of shoes you barely wear and one pair that you wear EVERY. SINGLE. DAY., then you need to make a change. Experts say you shouldn’t wear your favorite trusty pair of shoes every day.

Why? Because if you really love your shoes, giving them a rest will let you keep them longer, according to Business Insider.

“The best way to extend the life of your shoes is to rotate your shoes and use quality shoe trees after each wear,” shoe expert Jim Kass from Allen Edmonds‘ explained.

The culprit is your sweaty feet (no shame — we all have them). When you wear your shoes around all day, your feet perspire. That’s not a big deal — if you’re giving them enough time to dry. If you’re wearing the same pair every day though, you’re probably not giving your shoes the dry time they need.

“If you wear the same pair everyday, your shoes don’t have ample time to dry and they won’t maintain their shape,” Kass said.
