We get it, working out is hard. It takes a real commitment and some of us just can’t seem to find the motivation. But if you find yourself ditching your workout to an hour of binge-watching your fav show, we’ve got 6 tips to help make working out a lot easier!

1. Start in the Morning
There’s something about working out in the morning that makes it all okay. Sure, rolling out of bed early is not fun. But after the first 10 minutes of awfulness, you get over it. Working out in the morning is a great way to stay on autopilot (so you can’t talk yourself out of going to the gym) and perfect for getting it out of the way. Knowing it’s done and over with before the day begins will make you feel so much better, I promise.

2. Commit to Just 15 Minutes
You’d be surprised as to what 15 minutes could do. You can elevate your heart rate and kickstart your metabolism in that time alone. Committing to 15 minutes everyday will not only help you stay in shape, but it’s also incredibly habit forming. And most of the time, you’re going to want to keep working out after those 15 minutes are up. But just in case you’re not feeling it, just work hard for those 15 minutes and call it a day.
3. Do Something You Enjoy
Nothing will kill your workout buzz more than a boring, fitness regimen. Some people find running on treadmills dull as dirt while others just can’t stand yoga. If you find something you actually like, you’ll keep going because you actually enjoy it. It may take time, but eventually you’ll get there. (I myself found that the ONLY workout I like is pilates and that’s it!) So be patient and take the opportunity to try new things!
4. Grab a Buddy
Working out with a friend can be great motivation! Whether you keep it simple like a walk around the park or take a hardcore kickboxing class together, you’ll have a lot more fun (and someone to complain to when it’s all over). Having someone to work out with will also keep you accountable so you won’t miss your daily workout routine.
5. Take it Slow
You know when you see Pinterest fitspo and you get super motivated? But then you work out for a week, see no progress and give up? That’s because the goals you’re setting for yourself are unrealistic. I know you want results NOW. We’re in a world where we can get just about anything now. But you can’t fool Mother Nature. Take it slow, work hard, and be patient. Know it’s a process and know it won’t happen over night. The sooner you come to this conclusion, the quicker you’ll be to actually going to the gym. You’ll also be a lot more proud of what you have accomplished!
6. Look Up to Someone Worthy of Your Time
Look up to someone who started like you or is incredibly honest is a good role model to follow. There are tons of REAL fitspo accounts on Instagram that show you their progress. They’ll be the ones who tell you like it is, but also keep you motivated.
