You know that exercise is super important, but what if you hate working out? Good news! You don’t need to endure a major sweat session at the gym to move your muscles and stay active. In fact, there are many different ways to sneak in more exercise into your day that don’t even feel like exercise! #Truth.
Check out these eight ways to include more exercise into your day.

1. Make Your Bed Every Morning
Not only will you score extra points with your Mom, but making your bed first thing in the morning will get your muscles instantly moving, which is a great way to start the day.
2. Skip the Elevator and Take the Stairs
Whether you’re at the shopping mall or subway station, whenever possible, skip the elevator, or escalator, and head for the stairs. Stair climbing is a great cardiovascular exercise that will also tone your legs and butt. Make it fun by visualizing a treat for yourself at the end of it, or pretend you’re climbing the stairs to accept an award (If you’re heading for 15th floor, then maaaaybeee take the elevator.)
3. Do 10 Push Ups and 20 Sit Ups While Watching TV
American teens spend on average 20 hours per week in front of TV and computer screens. Make the most of your leisure time by doing 10 push-ups and 20 sit ups every ten minutes while watching your latest Netflix binge (that adds up to 30 push-ups and 60 sit ups for a 30 minute show!). If you’re motivated enough, you might even want to alternate pushups, crunches, plank pose, and jumping jacks, along with some stretching, for the entire duration of your program.
4. Clean Your Room
You don’t have to do a major clean out to make this activity count. Even daily, or weekly, cleanups of your room, including dusting, vacuuming and putting away clothes, can do a lot for your bod. Besides, don’t you always feel better after your room is cleaned?
5. Commit to a Walk Every Lunch Hour
Walking is one of the easiest and best ways to exercise. Commit to a 15 minute walk break during your lunch hour. It’s an awesome excuse to get some “me” time while also killing calories. Need to chat with your BFF or mom at lunchtime? Make the call during your walk. You can even ask a friend to join you!
6. Hold a Dance Off Party
Whether hanging solo or with your squad, a dance-off is always a fun way to move your body. So turn on your fave playlist and don’t be surprised if an hour goes by and you’re still sweating — and loving every minute of it.
According to studies, about 10-15 minutes of laughter could torch 10-40 calories. Which means laughing at memes and your bestie’s silly Snaps does a body good.
8. Play With Your Dog
Running around with your furry friend at the local dog park is an awesome opportunity to sneak in some activity while having tons of fun while doing so!
