It’s starting to get a little colder, some holiday music is filling the air, and pumpkin spice latte season is on its way out (NBD, because all of the holiday drinks at Starbucks are just as great). It’s officially the holiday season and we’re ready to bring out our ugly Christmas sweaters right now. From all of the holiday commercials to the holiday movies, it’s beginning to look a lot like the most wonderful time of the year.

Here are eight stages everyone goes through during the holidays:
1. It’s November 1st, that means it’s Christmas right?!
Admit it. As soon as it becomes November 1st, you’re all about that holiday life. You’re just like every other person on this planet that is so ready to get in the holiday spirit. Bring on Thanksgiving-Christmas-Hannukah-Kwanza!

2. Decoration time!
You go to the mall, restaurants, and even the gas station and everything is covered with holiday decorations. Excitement is brought to another level!
3. Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree
Putting up the Christmas tree is one of the most exciting parts about the holidays. Hold on, wait, where are those ornaments again?!
4. Time to start making your wish list
SO. MANY. NEW. THINGS. are out and we’re ready to add them onto our holiday wish lists. From Naked palettes, to extra amounts of highlighter kits (#GlowForDays), and of course, a subscription to YouTube Red to watch some of our fave shows like Foursome, the real question is: when does a holiday wish list become too long?
5. Getting gifts for others
‘Tis the season for giving, not just receiving! It’s time to buy family and friends what they’ve always wanted, including your adorable pup some fun dog toy to enjoy.
6. Two words: holiday movies!
7. TODAY IS THE DAY
The holidays are officially here! It’s a perfect day to spend time with family, eat lots of good food, and open tons of presents!
8. Only 364 more days until Christmas
The holidays may have come to a close, but that means there’s only 11 more months until we can get ready for Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza all over again. Plus, there are still some delicious holiday leftovers to enjoy!
