Adopting a vegan diet has definitely become trendy, and though you might be curious to try it like Kylie, it’s important to know what it exactly entails.

Vegans avoid meat, poultry, and seafood, as well as all animal products, including dairy, eggs, and even honey. Many vegans also take their passion for animals one step further by avoiding household products, clothing, or other items made from animal products or tested on animals.

If you love cheese, but are still interested in eliminating meat from your diet, you might want to experiment with vegetarianism. A vegetarian excludes meat, poultry, and seafood from their diet. Some vegetarians might also exclude dairy, while some may consume eggs and dairy. It’s all up to the individual!

And if you enjoy eating seafood, then you might consider eating like a pescetarian. Similar to vegetarians and vegans, a pescetarian does not eat any type of animal meat or flesh, however they do eat fish. They could also exclude dairy and eggs, or not. Again, it’s all about personal preference.

Vegetarians, pescatarians and vegans have to be sure they are getting all of their nutritional needs are met. This means eating a balanced selection of foods that include the daily nutritional requirements of zinc, iron, calcium, and protein. So if you’re seriously considering switching up your diet to include more plant-based foods, then it’s super important to talk to a doctor and/or nutritionist before making the change.

Who knows? You might even turn out to be the veganest vegan out there! Watch yourself, Miley!
