Jacob Tremblay’s New Trailer Will Break Your Heart

And warm your soul

Meet Auggie. He’s anything but ordinary. He’s had 27 facial surgeries and now must face attending his first real school, where he fears his aesthetic differences will make him stand out like a sore thumb, and it does. Auggie, played by the breakout Room star Jacob Tremblay, will soon learn that maybe being different isn’t always a bad thing.

Wonder, an adaptation of the R.J. Palacio novel by the same name, also stars Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson.

“Look at his face! I’ve never seen anything that ugly in my life,” a student reacts to Auggie in the trailer. “If I look like him, I swear I’d put a hood over my face,” another student adds. In a story about differences, empathy, and compassion, the film launched their campaign with the #ChooseKind hashtag, and we’re hoping it will inspire everyone to do so.
