Was Jake Paul actually fired from his role on Disney’s Bizaardvark?

Jake Paul has been stirring up all kinds of news lately, with the beef between him and his brother, Logan, and then of course there was the whole situation with Jake and Team 10 being noisy neighbors that got the attention of a local news station and might lead to Jake getting sued.
But now, we have even more news from Jake. As most of you probably know, Jake plays Dirk Mann on the Disney show, Bizaardvark. But it looks like things have taken a turn for the worse. Because over the weekend, Disney announced that Dirk Mann would no longer be on the show. Aka, they parted ways with the one and only Jake Paul. Which begs the question… why would they do that?!
Well, in Disney’s official statement, they said, “We’ve mutually agreed that Jake Paul will leave his role on the Disney Channel series ‘Bizaardvark’…On behalf of the production company, the cast, and crew, we thank Jake for his good work on the TV series for the past 18 months and extend our best wishes to him.” Hold on… mutually agreed? Ok, well that still doesn’t tell us exactly what happened.

But then Jake himself took to Twitter to explain everything in a pretty long and heartfelt post. After explaining that he and Disney mutually decided to part ways, he also said, “I love my cast mates and will continue to support Disney but I have outgrown the channel and feel it’s time to move forward in my career. At this point in time I am wanting to focus more on my personal brand, my YouTube channel, business ventures, growing Team 10, and working on more adult acting roles.”
Ok, so this all sounds pretty friendly and mutual, right? A lot of people eventually grow out of the Disney Channel. Lookin at you, Miley. And Demi. And Nick. And literally so many other people.
But Jake’s cast mates also chimed in on the conversation to wish him goodbye and good luck. Like Ethan Wacker who posted this super emotional video to Instagram.
But Jake’s cast mates aren’t the only ones who have something to say about all of this. Because there are a bunch of rumors floating around that this might not have been such a “mutual” breakup like Jake and Disney are saying. I mean, leave it to Twitter to get straight to the juice. One fan account tweeted the gif of the kid trying not to cry, you know which one I’m talking about, with the caption: jake paul trying to play it cool that he just got fired from Disney.
Whoa whoa whoa… fired?? And this twitter user is not the only one who thinks so. Lots of other people are saying the same thing – that Jake actually got fired from the show.
Well, we have to admit, with all of the negative news revolving around Jake and Team 10 right now, we understand why people might think that. Some news outlets are even straight up reporting that Disney dropped Jake because of all the drama. But there is also no actual evidence of that, and both Jake and Disney were pretty clear in their statements that this was “mutual.”
So…what do you guys think? Was this a mutual breakup, or do you think Disney actually gave Jake the boot? Let us know in the comments below.
