Justin Bieber’s “Despacito” remix is pretty amazing, but the story behind it is even better.

Luis Fonsi told the story to Vivala:

Apparently, Luis got the call that “Justin” (no last name because, honestly, is a last name even needed?) wanted to record a remix of his track. After a little confusion (it was three in the morning for him, after all), he realized what was going on and immediately said yes.
“He’s like, ‘Justin Bieber heard the song in the nightclub last night. He wants the session today so he can record it and release it in like a fews days.’ And I was like, ‘Bro, why are you even asking? Send him the session now. Let that man do his thing.'”
As we all know, the rest was history. Luis also revealed that it was actually Justin’s decision to do the chorus in Spanish.
“We had lyrics for the whole song in English, but he’s like ‘uh uh, uh uh, I’m doing it in Español.'”
Justin knows what he wants.
