It’s no secret that Katy Perry and Taylor Swift aren’t the best of friends. It all started back in 2012, over THREE backup dancers. Taylor claimed that her old BFF, Katy, stole three of her backup dancers from her Red Tour, inspiring Taylor’s mega-hit, “Bad Blood.”

While T-Swift never actually came out and said it was about Katy, Taylor said it was about someone who was a “straight-up enemy” that tried to “sabotage an entire tour”. I think we can all agree those stories match. Talk about some Bad Blood!
And, of course, we’ll NEVER forget the Summer of 2016. Yeah, that’s right around the time Calvin and Taylor broke up after a year of adorable Insta couple pictures and front row award show close-ups. Oh, and when Calvin went on a Twitter rant over Taylor admitting to writing their song together, “This Is What You Came For,” and taking her infamous nemesis, Katy’s side.
That’s right! Calvin called out Taylor tweeting, “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it,” Ouch, Calvin! You’re so Hot N’ Cold!

So, you can imagine how Taylor felt when she heard the news that her ex-BFF and ex-bae have teamed up on a song for Calvin’s new album, Funk Wav Bounces Vol 1. That’s right, Calvin posted this video on his Twitter teasing all the collabs on his new new album.
Yep, that’s Katy’s name!! Some people on social media are saying it may be a “Bad Blood” clapback, which I mean, if you think about it, it would make a lot of sense. I think it’s safe to say that Katy and Calvin have a LOT to say when it comes to Taylor, and what better way to do that than to write a song? (Sounds kind of like someone else we know).
But at this point we have no confirmation either way, so all we really have to go off of is a recent interview Katy did with Entertainment Weekly. It sounds like she’s just decided to *shake it off* as she has done with the majority of the T-Swift drama. When asked if her new album would include a clapback to Taylor’s “Bad Blood,” Katy had a lot to say. She started by saying, “There is no one thing that’s calling out any one person,” and went on to say, “You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. And that’s not to any one person and don’t quote me that it is, because it’s not…Honestly, when women come together and they decide to unite, this world is going to be a better place. Period end of story.”
Katy finished off the interview with some empowering words about her new album, saying that the album is all about her and nobody else. So I guess we know where Katy’s new album stands, but we’ll have to wait for her and Calvin’s song to come out for us to know exactly what that’s all about.
