Kylie Jenner is determined to show fans a new side of herself on her new show, Life of Kylie. She wants people to know that there’s more to her than we see on Instagram and Snapchat. In the first episode of her new series, she expressed her desire to try therapy for the first time, and she did just that — on camera.

While her therapist declined to be shown on the series, in order to protect Kylie’s doctor-patient confidentiality, Kylie’s half of the conversation was filmed and it was very revealing. In the session, Kylie opened up about the anxiety her fame causes her.

“I don’t know what it’s like to live a normal life, where people just don’t know who you are, to get out the car and not have everyone stare at you. I feel like when you grow up on camera, people feel like they know you. I started filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians when I was 9 years old. I really don’t know what it’s like to not know what I am,” she explained. “I feel like, for so long I’ve been putting out this persona to the world.”
It seems like the session went well for Kylie—in a new clip from the show, she reflects on the experience with a friend and revealed that she feels she could talk to her therapist about anything. That’s a perfect relationship to have with a mental health provider, so we couldn’t be happier for Kylie.
