Listen to the Song That Got Selena Back Into the Studio

Introducing your new favorite single, "Issues"

Our hearts broke for Selena when we heard she’d be taking some time off from music to deal with anxiety, depression and panic attacks after her Lupus diagnosis. While we’re happy Sel took the time she needed to heal, we’re equally ecstatic to hear she’s back in the studio. That’s right, she’s back and looks like she’s having an absolute BALL. Unfortunately, she’s not there to record her Revival follow-up just yet, but we’d say this looks like a great step in the right direction.

On January 16th, Selena and fellow songwriters, Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, and Republic Group president Charlie Walk, took to Instagram to celebrate her longtime pal Julia Michael’s new single, “Issues.”

Those moves Selena! And this song! Instant new favorite. Take a look and listen:

It’s great, right? If you’re not familiar with Michael’s, we guarantee you’ve heard her work before. She has writing credits on Justin Beiber’s “Sorry,” Hailee Steinfeld’s “Love Myself,” and, of course, Selena’s “Good for You,” “Hands to Myself,” “Slow Down,” and more.

We’re loving that Selena’s bonding over her good friend’s new release, and we have a very, very good feeling they’ll be working together on more of Selena’s music in the near future.
