“All you have to do is upload a video that creatively describes the plans for your upcoming coming of age party and include the hashtag #MySuperSweetAudition in the caption,” MTV‘s Gabrielle Wilson explains.
“MTV is searching nationwide for the most popular, outrageous, glitzy, girls and boys planning extravagant parties that will show the world just how #blessed they really are!” MTV adds.
So if you don’t mind your milestone meltdowns, dress fitting tantrums, and gift reactions being recorded, it’s your time to shine.
The collaboration between MTV and Musical.ly marks the first time MTV has used a mobile app to audition and feature talent for one of its series.
The original series aired on MTV from 2005-2008 and featured Hilary Duff’s infectious track “Sweet Sixteen” as the theme song. Episodes included celebrity parties from Chris Brown, Soulja Boy, Bow Wow, Aly & AJ, and Teyana Taylor. Also, one of Jennifer Lawrence’s first TV gigs was on an advertisement for the first season of “My Super Sweet 16” — #TBT!
