After many (many, many) Instagram teases, Selena Gomez‘s new song, “Bad Liar,” is finally here. She started teasing the song a week ago, with an Instagram picture of the title written in lipstick on a mirror (classic).

Then, after announcing the release date (TODAY) in a series of Instagram shots, Sel started teasing the song’s lyrics:

And finally, the sound, in clips:
The song itself is about trying to fight feelings for someone and then realizing that you’re so bad at pretending not to be into them that you’re a “bad liar.” Hmm, could this be about Selena’s new love, The Weeknd?
Whoever inspired the track, we’re totally feeling it. The sound is definitely different from the Selena we got to know on Revival, but we’re beyond excited to hear the rest of this album now.
Selena even teased an exclusive video for the track on Spotify, and TBH, it’s amazing:
In the video, Selena wears the “fall risk” bracelet we all DEFINITELY noticed on Instagram. As Teen Vogue reports, photographer Petra Collins explained the bracelet in a now-disabled Instagram comment, writing, “Selena came straight from the hospital to this shoot — from being there for lupus.”
“Bad Liar” might represent a new sound for Selena, but the song is emotional and raw, which is exactly what we’ve come to expect (and love) from the singer.
